Braeburn Neighbourhood Place & Boys and Girls Club is a non-profit social services agency located in Rexdale, Ontario.
We operate programs for children, youth and families and are currently looking for dynamic, motivated staff to work in our Leadership and Homework Programs for children and youth.
The programs operate afterschool and early evenings, Monday to Friday.
Staff will be required to work Monday to Friday, from 2:00-5:30pm.
This contract period is from September 2011 to June 2012.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, set-up and implementation of programs for children or youth.
  • Provide responsible leadership and group guidance to children or youth.
  • Work cooperatively within a team.
  • Programs will vary from recreation & life skills (e.g. sports, crafts, cooking, leadership building, indoor/outdoor games) to homework guidance, and tutoring.
  • Some lifting and moving of program supplies and equipment is required for set up.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in teaching, recreation, life skills training, or childcare.
  • Good academic skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Proven team skills.
  • Previous tutoring experience with adolescent youth is an asset.

As part of our governing policies a clear Criminal Reference Check and Position of Trust is mandatory for all successful applicants.
