Job Summary
Reporting to the Regional Services Co-ordinator, your role as a part-time Regional Client Services Assistant (.6FTE) will involve supporting Client Services with general administrative functions, information, intake and referrals for individuals and communities in Northern Ontario (LHIN 14). This is a position is based in the Thunder Bay regional office.
 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Support Regional Services Co-ordinator with client services across a large Geographic Area
  • Provide information regarding the spectrum of programs offered by CPA Ontario
  • Provide information on services and supports
  • Schedule, set-up and coordinate with Ontario Telemedicine Network
  • Assist with client intake and refer clients to other CPA Ontario services or agencies, as appropriate.
  • Develop a resource library
  • Prepare correspondence, applications and required documents for internal and external clientele
  • Respond to general client service inquiries
  • Promote the agency through various community development activities
  • Assist with various projects, special events and other administrative duties, as assigned
  • Responsible for general office operations including: organizing, cataloguing, filing, photocopying, faxing, and shredding
  • Perform data entry and computer work including developing power point presentations that will assist with community development and the support of our Aboriginal Strategy
 
 
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year and/or demonstrated ability in an administrative capacity
  • Background in social services/rehabilitation services, with knowledge of community disability services, including mobility impairments and functional implications
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, customs and practices and the unique challenges faced by Aboriginal individuals, a definite asset
  • Familiarity with relevant community groups and support services
  • Excellent organization skills; ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with a variety of people at all levels within and outside the organization
  • Some travel required within the region
  • Ability to act with discretion, diplomacy and to maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrated computer efficiency working in an MS Office environment is essential, including Word, Excel and Internet functions; previous experience in database management, an asset
